Ashlee Bruewer, DVM, CVA

Background

Dr. Ashlee Bruewer grew up in a suburb of Detroit and wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. Growing up, she spent her free time riding horses at her local hunter/jumper riding school and generally being a “barn rat”. It was initially her love of horses that motivated her desire to pursue veterinary medicine.

Education, Experience, & Certifications

Dr. Bruewer earned her Bachelor of Science in Genomics and Molecular Genetics from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, Dr. Bruewer practiced mixed animal medicine on the Western Slope of Colorado before ultimately deciding to focus solely on companion animals. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) through Chi University and is working on her herbal medicine certification.

Areas of Interest

It was during veterinary school that Dr. Bruewer discovered her passion for working with companion animals, supporting the human-animal-bond and helping pet owners support the health of their furry family members. Her areas of interest are integrative medicine, nutrition, ophthalmology, pain management and end-of-life care. Dr. Bruewer’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine are the fact that learning never stops and that every day is an opportunity to foster relationships with her patients and their families.

After Hours

Dr. Bruewer lives with her husband, their two dogs (Melvin and Arthur) and cat (William Wallace, aka Wally). Outside of work, Dr. Bruewer enjoys developing her life coaching skills, climbing 14ers, growing sunflowers, riding horses, and competing in horse shows when time allows.
